LOCAL ELECTIONS

Okay it's that time again, Sunday the 22nd of May local election time. Your chance to make a difference, if you are eligible to vote you can have your say. If you have voted before ignore this, if not, here is a brief explanation:
1: On polling day go to the polling station, if you live on any of the urbanisations, that will be the centro municipal, plaza blanca, in front of Goyo’s, between 9 am and 8 pm.
2: Have with you your voting card if you received it (not essential) and your passport, or residencia and as much ID as you can muster( you can never have too much paper)
3: You will find there are 3 voting tables called mesas, if you have your voting card it will tell you which table (mesa), if you don’t have the card then you will have to look through the lists which are hanging up to find your name and which table to vote on.
4: The voting envelope, in the polling station there is a booth, in the booth you will find envelopes and lists, choose the list which you wish to vote for (example; PP) this list has 24 candidates, fold the list and place in the envelope, VERY IMPORTANT Only 1 list per envelope, you must not mark in any way the list, your vote is 1 list in 1 envelope there are no pens in the booth because there is no need, do not underline or put an X, no marks whatsoever.
5: On the table you will see a transparent plastic box this is where you place your vote, when you approach the table you will be asked to identify yourself, hand over your ID the president of the table will read out your name and several scrutineers will mark you from their list, that way you only vote once, you then place your envelope in the box.

Water Filters

Hi Everyone
I am Tom and I sell and fit water filters. I am on La Marina market every Thursday and Sunday and can be found near the steps. The domestic water in and around La Marina is quite good, and my filters take out the smell and the taste of chlorine and kill all the bacteria, but leaving the nutrients in the water. Fitting only takes approx 20 mins and is fully guaranteed and legal. Do not risk your health with bottled water, have a water filter fitted. BIKES

I have just purchased a new bike from CYCOLOGICAL in Quesada town. I must say that I can highly recommend them, very very helpful without pressure to buy. So informative and lovely couple who own it, you can even trade in your old bike. However I must say the hills are still hard to get up!

GREAT DAYS OUT WITH KIDS

Yesterday we decided to do something different with the kids.

We took the train from San Isidro to Alicante (€4,75 return), then took the tram from Alicante to Benidorm (€5,70 return). These services are great and had I realised they were available I would certainly have taken advantage of them before!!

We went to Benidorm specifically to let the children have a go at waterskiing. This was fab - it was only €12 for an hour (although they did actually get longer as they were enjoying it so much !!) It was more difficult than they thought but they all managed to get up and do half the circuit which believe me was amazing to watch!! They didnt want to leave and we will definitely go back!! You are taken around on a cable rather than a boat (as seen on Benidorm on ITV recently!!). To get to the cableski platform you take a pedalo which has to be seen to be believed!! The set up is good, wetsuits and life jackets included, instruction included and if (when) you fall off a boat comes and picks you up unless you are close to the cableski platform. The only downside was that there was quite a few jellyfish around and at first this bothered the children however they soon got used to looking for them and swimming round them!!

It was a fab thing to do and the kids cant wait to go back. Maybe theyve found a career opportunity here!!
