We discovered a lovely train ride today, we got on it at Albatera-Catral and went up to Alicante for 5 euros ea. return.
The train actually goes from Alicante all the way down to Murcia and returns, a great service.

You can even get a train into France from Alicante Station. I think it goes into Montpellier!!
